Know the real cost.

Private brands, government schemes, petrol pumps and milk booths — what you put in, the space you need, who can apply and how. Taken from the brand’s or scheme’s own pages, never from a sales pitch.

Start with your budget

How much can you put in?

Drag to the money you have. The count goes by the lowest amount each brand or scheme prints for getting started — many government outlets ask only a deposit.

The path

From idea to opening day

Most franchises open in four steps. Do them in this order and you will not pay for a mistake.

  1. 01Pick by budget and trade

Start with what you can put in and a trade you understand. Shortlist three, not thirty.

  2. 02Read the brand’s own page

Every figure here links to the brand’s or scheme’s page. Ask for the costs and terms in writing.

  3. 03Visit two running outlets

Talk to owners who already run one: real sales, real rent, how much support they get.

  4. 04Sign, fund, open

A written agreement, payment only to the company’s account, then the loan, licences and fit-out.

How we check

Four rules

  1. The brand’s own wordCosts come from the brand’s or scheme’s own page, brochure or filing. A news report quoting the company is marked “Reported”.
  2. No guessed numbersWhere a brand prints no cost, we write “Ask the brand” — never an estimate from a listing site.
  3. Official links onlyEvery “apply” button goes to the official page. We never collect fees for a franchise.
  4. DatedEach entry shows the day it was checked. Last review: 29 October 2026.
